Cameras: winning by 1/1000 of a second

These cameras work in a very unique way — they scan one single pixel wide, and then build the image as the object moves in front of them. As a result, they can shoot pretty incredible frame rates — mine shoots 2,000 fps, but I’d bet they were shooting closer to 5,000 fps on this image.

They can distinguish finishes of about 0.001 seconds, which end up producing incredible images. Those riders are likely doing 45–50 mph.
